Chair of Carmarthenshire County Council and member for the Llandovery Ward Councillor Handel Davies has chosen LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity and Prostate Cymru as his charities during his term of office.
In addition to his duties as Chair of the County Council during 2024/25, Cllr Davies will also be raising money and awareness for two charities which are close to his heart:
LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity supports children and their families receiving treatment for cancer and leukaemia at the Children’s Hospice for Wales.
Prostate Cymru is the leading prostate health charity in Wales supporting men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.
People wishing to donate to these very worthy causes can do so by visiting the Chair’s Just Giving pages.
Details of Cllr Davies’ fundraising activities and engagements can be found via the County Council Chair’s Facebook page.
The Chair is the first citizen of Carmarthenshire County Council and is elected at the Annual General Meeting. “It is a great honour to serve as Chair of the County Council. As Chair, I am very fortunate to be given the opportunity to visit a wide variety of events across our county that reflect the kind-hearted and hard-working character of our residents, communities and organisations.
“Taking inspiration from the people I have met in my role; I would like to also use my time as Chair to raise as much money as possible for LATCH Children’s Cancer Charity and Prostrate Cymru.”
