The Samaritans, based in Haverfordwest, have received a £1,000 donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation after being nominated by colleagues from the Tenby branch.

The Samaritans are there every day and night of the year for anyone struggling to cope. They make sure people have somewhere to turn and support when they need it most. The Samaritans work with communities to let people know they are there for them and campaign to make suicide prevention a priority.

The donation will help the charity to continue to provide the support needed to the Pembrokeshire community and beyond.

Laura, Customer Consultant at Yorkshire Building Society in Tenby, said: “We are proud to be able to support The Samaritans in our community in Haverfordwest with a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.”

Janet Neale, Samaritans Director, said: “We are really thankful for the donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation that will help us continue to provide our services.”

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference® scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities around the UK.

Last year the foundation donated over £283,000 to local causes and charities nominated by members and colleagues from around the UK.
