The clubhouse was packed to capacity last Saturday for a performance of ‘the Cinderella story with a twist’.

Written and directed by Lynne Reyed, all the parts were played by club members, Sue Roden as Cinderella, Graham Hughes as Prince Charming, Mike Carr as Maurice, Mike McDonald as Roger, Paul Blayney as Lord Randy, Richard Whittaker as the guard and Lynne herself as the Fairy Godmother.

Acting as narrators were Mike Ashbridge and Jean Dezille.

The king had been murdered after the ball and the audience were invited to see whether they could detect who had done the foul deed.

Paul was as surprised as anyone to discover that he was the culprit as Lynne had not divulged anything to the cast for fear of the answer being revealed inadvertently prior to the performance.

The scenery had been expertly painted by Jean Dezille and acting as sound engineer was Dai Davies who also manned the bar before and after the play.

All the performers were dressed in a variety of costumes and everyone was thanked afterwards, firstly by Lynne and then by club chairman Myrddin Dennis.

Club Quiz

The next event at the club will be the annual quiz evening on Thursday, February 7 at 7.30 pm.

The evening is again kindly being sponsored by the Mansell Brothers at the Hyundai Garage in Kilgetty.

Jamie Shields

Members were shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Jamie, who lived in Hill Rise Kilgetty.

Although recently playing for Pendine Bowling Club where he was men’s captain last year, prior to that Jamie had played for Saundersfoot for many years and was also a member of Heatherton in the winter months.

He was a very popular character with his Scottish accent as he was a native of Ayr and sincere sympathy is extended to Sue and all the family.
