It was a gorgeous Spring afternoon when Pembroke Dock Bowling Club played host to a match between the West Wales Ladies Bowling Association and the South Wales & Monmouthshire Ladies Bowling Association.

WWLBA president, Mrs. Anne Cole, welcomed the ladies of SW&MLBA and, accompanied by Mrs. Ann Thomas, secretary of WWLBA, posed for photographs with Mrs. Heather Collin, the president of SW&MLBA.

The match itself was a closely fought game, played in a friendly but competitive atmosphere. At the last gasp, with the result in the balance, one of the visiting skips, with her very last wood, trailed the jack into the ditch to win the rink and game, thereby securing the overall win, by a very narrow margin (121 to 118 shots), for the SW&MLBA team.

On completion of the match, a meal prepared by the Ladies Section of the club was served to all participants.
