The A40 Trunk Road north of Narberth will be closed for a weekend in April as part of the A40 Llanddewi Velfrey to Redstone Cross Improvements Scheme.
The closure is between 8pm on Friday, April 19 until 6pm on Monday, April 22, to facilitate the connection between the new Redstone Bridge and the current A40. The northerly exit of Redstone Road Narberth will be closed for a further three and a half weeks from Monday, April 22.
Owing to the significant level differences between the new bridge at Redstone and junction tie-in to the existing A40, a weekend closure is required. To ensure minimal disruption to local communities, commuters, and the local economy, the closure has been scheduled outside of the Easter holiday break. Preparation is already underway to minimise the closure duration.
Emergency services have been briefed to use minimum impact diversion routes; residents and businesses living immediately on the closed A40 section will have access to their properties.
Drivers should follow diversion signs. Traffic management personnel will be stationed at Penblewin and Robeston Wathen roundabouts. Heavy goods vehicles must take the South Wales Trunk Road Agency route, via the A4076 and A477.
