Over 40 tractors took to the roads of South Carmarthenshire on a glorious summer’s day to raise money for Pembrokeshire based Children’s Bereavement Charity, Sandy Bear.

The annual South West Wales Vintage Tractor and Engine Club Tractor Run left Whitland mid-morning, waved off by Sandy Bear in person.

The group travelled across the glorious winding roads through the countryside and stopped for a quick sandwich at Amroth.

The convoy of tractors continued their journey along the coast before taking to the sandy beach of Pendine, where great crowds had gathered to enjoy a weekend of Hot Rod racing. Crowds quickly gathered to admire the line of classic and vintage tractors artistically parked along the beach.

Sandy Bear is a registered charity providing a service to all children and young people up to 18 years who have suffered, or who are likely to suffer a bereavement and live in Pembrokeshire. Sandy Bear believe that every child and young person should have the opportunity to thrive and to be the very best that they can be. For some children and young people, the death of a loved one will turn their world upside down in an instant, leaving them bereft.

The South West Wales Vintage Tractor and Engine Club will be celebrating 50 years next year and will be celebrating with a commemorative dinner.

The club meets on the second Monday of every month at Caffi Beca, Efailwen at 8pm. Activities include a range of guest speakers and visits to collections, along with an opportunity to talk about tractors and engines with experienced and knowledgeable members.
