Matters discussed at the August meeting of East Williamston Community Council were as follows:

Council was still awaiting a reply from PCC regarding Templebar Road, a crossing island at Pentlepoir and subsidence at Millfields Close, Elveston Lane, and the road at Fern Hill.

Play areas: Pentlepoir - no problems reported; Broadmoor - the trees the back of the play area were overhanging and the security fence was in need of repair. Contractor would be advised. It was agreed to replace the chain link fence with a security fence. Enquiries would be made with PCC about the cost of installation. No dogs signs would also be purchased for all play areas.

East Williamston: Queen Elizabeth Fields project - the site had now been visited by the project organiser who would advise the council in due course. A commemorative bench was in the process of being purchased.

Planning applications: extension - Maes Yr Awel, Cold Inn (no objections raised); planning applications refused - change of use of land for stationing a residential caravan - land adjoinging Thorney Park, Clayford Lane; construction of fodder store and stables boxes, raising ground level and inert fill (retrospective) - application withdrawn.

Councillors reports: The grating outside the bus shelter had dropped and was in need of repair; the bus shelter in East Williamston was in need of cleaning; the pavement outside Pencoed Nursing home had dropped further and was in need of urgent repair; Clr. Williams attended the planning meeting at PCC regarding Thorney Park, Clayford Road, and was disappointed to note that although they had been informed of the mistake, East Williamston Community Council's objections were not recorded on the agenda.
