Carmarthenshire County Council has secured £500,000 through the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund to carry out major improvement works in Carmarthen town centre.
The first phase will include pavement repairs and works will start on Tuesday, August 27 at St Peter’s Car Park entrance to enhance its appearance and make it more pedestrian friendly. It will also include the resurfacing of King Street and Queen Street, scheduled to take place between September 17 and 25. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout and shops and businesses will be open as usual.
Further works will then be carried out in Nott Square, Guildhall Square, Red Street, Market Street, Chapel Street and John Street to improve the attractiveness of the town centre.
