Well done to Tenby’s Walking Football Team who won the second Annual Welsh walking football competition hosted by Carmarthen Town FC recently.
In doing so they retained their title from the inaugural championship. Ten teams from across Wales took part in the event on Sunday, November 28.
In the semi-final Tenby beat Llandarcy one nil with a goal from Ray Wise. They were then held to a goalless draw in the final by Cardiff but prevailed in a tense penalty shootout with crucial strikes from Mark Gray and Wise.
Tenby Walking Football Club is for players aged 50 and over, with most of the current players over 60.
They practice every Saturday morning on the astroturf at Greenhill School in Tenby between 10 and 11 am.
The club believe walking football is a great way to exercise and socialise, and any new players are very welcome to head along to the training sessions.
