Narberth got off to a winning start on their return to division one with a thumping nine wicket win at Llanrhian. The Cows were dismissed for 158 after Ben Hughes took 5-21 and Narberth had no issues with knocking off the runs as Richie Adam struck an unbeaten 86 and Kyle Quartermaine 51 not out.

Not such a good opening day for Whitland, however, as they were thrashed by Neyland, being bowled out for 98. Only Dylan Blain with 61 got to grips with the hosts, who powered to a six-wicket win.

It was a day to forget for Carew, too, after they were annihilated by Haverfordwest, who batted first and amassed 207-6 thanks to Simon Holliday’s century. Carew were bundled out for 81 in reply, with Nic Scourfield the only form of resistance to the Town’s bowlers, hitting 36 not out. Earlier, Tom Davies took 4-43.

Given the amount of bowlers that left Cresselly in the pre-season, the ones left to carry the can didn’t do too badly at home to St. Ishmaels after they secured a 95-run win. The hosts scored a staggering 280-5 thanks to Adam Chandler’s stylish and authoritative 123 not out and Iwan Izzard’s 69. In reply, Tish scored 185 all out as Mike Shaw spun his way to 4-43.

Lawrenny lost at home to Johnston by an agonising 13 runs after trying to chase 189 for victory. Brad Jenkins’s return to the club was a good one as he took 3-36 alongside Rob Williams’s 3-62, but in reply the hosts fell short, despite Jenkins’s 48, Simon Cole’s 24 and Williams’s 21 not out.

Kilgetty started the season with a bang by securing a nine-wicket win at Stackpole, bowling the hosts out for 132 and passing it with ease thanks to Kurtis Marsh’s 72 not out. Earlier Anthony Bevan took 3-5. For Stackpole, Robert Mathias hit 33.

Whitland seconds fared little better than their firsts after being bowled out for 59 at home to Llangwm, with Dave Lee scoring 30 of his team’s paltry total.

Cresselly seconds could only draw with Burton firsts, who set the visitors 256 to win. Jim Kinnear took 3-47 for the visitors. In reply, Cresselly finished on 165-9, Neal Williams top scoring with 37.

Carew seconds went down to Haverfordwest seconds, despite having home advantage. The visitors batted first and scored 252-6 after Kern Cunningham blasted a brutal century, with Simon Wood taking 3-44. In reply, Robbie Hicks hit 34, but they were all out for 129.

At Hook, Pembroke chased down the hosts’ 220 all out to win by five wickets. Andrew Hay took 4-11 for the visitors, but the batters shone, with Jack Harries hitting 55, Paul White 51 not out and Barry Evans 43.

In division three, Pembroke Dock may have been depleted, but they still managed a brilliant win at home against Hook Seconds. The visitors batted first and scored 130 all out after Geraint Blair took 3-32 and Declan Scourfield and Conor Carroll two each, but then a fabulous 84 not out by Scott Griffiths ensured they won.

Lawrenny seconds could only manage a draw with Haverfordwest thirds, who set the visitors 157 to win, yet they could only manage 90-8 in reply. Thomas Cole took 5-28 for the Gavenyards.

Lamphey started the season with a bang following a 67-run win over Neyland seconds. Lewis Haynes struck and excellent 36 alongside Grant Cole’s unbeaten 33, Dean Lawrence’s 25 and Jake Griffiths’ 24. In reply, Neyland were all out for 108 after Hywel Gibbs, Scott Brunton and Dean Lawrence all took three wickets.

The match between Llechryd and Saundersfoot was abandoned.

In division four, it was a role reversal between Llanrhian seconds and Narberth seconds as the Cows beat the Otters by nine runs. Mike Williams and Nic Evans with four wickets each helped the hosts bowl Llanrhian out for 117, but they were all out for 108 in reply, despite Kyle Williams’s 49.

Pembroke seconds beat Carew thirds by six wickets after Carew were all out for 48 thanks to Dai Jones and George McBeth’s three wickets apiece. Nigel Phillips with 36 not out top scored for Pembroke in the reply.

Saundersfoot seconds were able to play Llechryd seconds and they won by seven wickets after Llechryd could only muster 103-9 as John Mansbridge took 3-19 and Dickie Parcell 3-12. Sam Franklin scored 70 not out in reply.

Hundleton lost by 129 runs at home to Fishguard who scored 262 all out. John Williams took 4-28 for the hosts, but they were bundled out for 133 in reply, with Ben Adams hitting 32.

Meanwhile in division five, Kilgetty seconds drew with Stackpole after scoring 240-7 thanks to Ollie Gamble’s 83 and Jake Waters’ 36, while Stackpole closed on 206-9 as Keiran Allen took 3-27 and Andrew Evans 2-37. For Stackpole, Roger Lewis hit 59 and John Hughes 34, while Huw Mason and Russell Roberts both took two wickets each.

Whitland thirds were in the nuns, too, scoring 214-8 against Neyland thirds. Gwynne Phillips scored 66, Colin John 57 and Mark Lee 47 in their team’s imposing total, with Lee taking 3-12 in Neyland’s 135 all out.

Hundleton seconds went down by five wickets away at Llangwm seconds. Hundleton scored 123-8 thanks to David Lockyer’s 35 and Steve Williams’s 22, while the hosts passed it for five, with Lockyer taking 4-40.

Finally, Cresselly thirds had a comfortable nine-wicket win at home to Pembroke Dock seconds, who were all out for 75, despite Owen James’s 36. Cresselly passed it for one thanks to Selwyn Cole’s 44 and Chris Izzard’s 24.

Earlier Megan Arthur took 4-11.
