As a regular summer swimmer on the North Beach, I agree with the letter in last week’s Observer about the dogs on the North Beach.

We take our grandchildren on the North Beach as it a dog free beach in the summer months. If the rules are changed, we will certainly not be going.

There are generations of families who have brought their children – simply to enjoy the clean beaches. Why spoil it?

That should be one of the reasons for the Blue Flag.
