THIS October, a team of high fliers will take on an adrenaline-fuelled challenge a lifetime, to support St John Ambulance Cymru’s life-saving work in communities all over Wales.
TeamSJAC will be taking to the skies to complete a tandem sky dive on October 22, 2022, and St John Ambulance’s very brave Fundraising Administrator Ellie Barnes will be amongst them.
Ellie, who is based in the Cardiff HQ, said:
“Since joining the organisation as fundraising assistant in March, I have been inspired by our volunteers who give their time to provide vital first aid treatment and training across Wales.
I’m also astounded by our brave supporters, who take on challenges to raise funds, allowing St John Ambulance Cymru to continue their crucial work in Welsh communities.
A Skydive has always been on my bucket list, but I’ve never had the courage to ‘take the plunge’, until now!”
As Wales’ leading first aid charity, St John Ambulance Cymru’s vision is to provide first aid for anyone, anytime, anywhere and each year they strive to increase people’s confidence to react in an emergency by teaching vital first aid skills which could one day be used to save a life.
Alan Drury, Community and Events Manager for St John Ambulance Cymru said:
“Events like this are really important to help us raise vital funds which will enable us to continue our lifesaving work and training in communities across Wales.
The recent pandemic has really hit the charity sector financially, which is why we need the support of our incredible fundraisers now more than ever, and the money raised from our tandem skydive event will help us to provide support and lifesaving training for even more people here in Wales.”
