St. Julian’s Church on Tenby Harbour held their traditional service of Christmas Readings, Poems, Lessons and Carols led by the Rev. Canon Andrew Grace on Sunday, December 15 - however the service at the ’little church on the harbour’ was so full that some members of the congregation had to stand!

Members and Friends of St. Julian’s Church read a variety of readings, including poetry from Waldo Williams, Idris Davies and Eleanor Farjeon. Fabulous readings were interspersed with traditional carols, with Dr. John Harrison playing the organ. Sam Skyrme-Blackhall sang a solo ‘In the bleak midwinter’.

As is tradition, the collection from the service (£230) has been donated to Tenby RNLI.

After the service, members of the congregation enjoyed minced pies and mulled wine at Tenby Sailing Club. Church wardens Susie Brooks and Laurence Blackhall want to thank Nicole and Terry Evans, Blake Shaw and the Sailing Club for their assistance.

St. Julian’s Church’s next scheduled service will be the Blessing of the Boats. This will be held the day before the boats are craned back into the water in the spring.
