In Saundersfoot Community Council chair Clr. Mike Wainwright’s festive message to readers, he said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to send a festive message to the residents of Saundersfoot.
This year has been one of great sadness and we should of course take time to remember those we have lost. At Christmas, we should think of the bereaved, those who are continuing to battle illness and those who may be lonely, isolated or vulnerable as a result of this devastating virus.
Let’s also find opportunity to think about those who will continue to work throughout the festive period, the emergency services, our hospital staff, care providers and those involved in many other essential public services; and, as we’ve done throughout this year, let’s look to help those less fortunate than ourselves and consider what we can do to support our neighbours and wider community.
Saundersfoot is a very magical and special place to live, especially at Christmas time, and I am very honoured to be this year’s Community Council Chairman.
It has been a difficult year for everybody, from day to day activities to organising events and projects, there have been pitfalls everywhere, but we have all done our best and we have come out the other side.
People have been fantastic in following the rules and trying to keep everyone safe in this strange environment.
As a council we have achieved quite a lot considering the restrictions that we have had to encounter, and without the dedication and hard work of fellow councillors this would not have been possible.
Together with my fellow councillors, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year.”
Clr. Mike Wainwright,
Chair of Saundersfoot Community Council
