Plans to open a new Tapas style bar in Tenby have been backed by councillors in the town.
At a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night, members were asked to consider a licensing application for the establishment to be known as ‘Twelve’ which will be located at the premises of the former Get Stuffed pizza parlour at units 9 to 12, at The Mews, Upper Frog Street.
The application which will eventually be determined by Pembrokeshire County Council’s licensing committee, seeks a variation of licence, with the addition of live (12 noon to 11 pm) and recorded (10 am to 12 midnight) music; late night refreshment (11 pm to 12.30 am); supply of alcohol (10 am to 12.30 am); along with opening hours from 8 am to 1 am.
Discussing the proposal, the town clerk Andrew Davies told councillors that the former pizza parlour was previously a licensed premises.
“I’ve got no problems with this, as the hours seem to be in keeping with other licensed premises already in that street,” said the Mayor, Clr. Tony Brown in putting forward a proposal that the application be accepted.
Clr. Trevor Hallett did flag-up his concerns that more and more licensed premises appeared to be ‘creeping’ into the town.
