The final decision on the details of a 100-bed hotel planned for Milford marina will not be made until further ecological information is received.

In March a Pembrokeshire County Council urgency committee agreed to extend the period for representations to be made on Milford Haven Port Authority’s application until April 15.

It voted to allow a decision to be delegated to the director of communities, following consultation with the cabinet member for planning and chairman, and vice chairman, of the planning committee.

The council has said that on April 20 a report was “circulated to the three-member panel (cabinet member for planning and chair and vice chair of planning committee seeking delegated authority to make a decision following resolution of ecological matters.”

It had also been sent to all county councillors before that, so they had the opportunity to express any views they to the panel.

This was not objected to so the delegated authority to issue a decision, once ecological issues have been resolved, was given to Dr Steven Jones, director of community services.

“We are awaiting some further information from MHPA in order to re-consult with Natural Resources Wales and when NRW provide a further response the decision can be issued,” added a county council spokesman.

The principal of the development has already been approved but a proposed site visit to discuss reserved details further was deferred due to the lockdown situation
