Are you struggling with numbers? Sometimes things like rent or bills can be confusing and hard to manage. But a free course will soon be starting in Saundersfoot run by a Pembrokeshire charity that believes everyone can manage their finances with the right skills.

Homelessness charity PATH offers numeracy and digital skills tuition from qualified teachers and also has an onsite Mental Health Counsellor and Support Worker to support individuals should they need it.

PATH is Part of Pembrokeshire Care Society. The charity has been running the course in Haverfordwest, Milford and Pembroke Dock and soon will be starting a new course based at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot.

The course is gaining momentum and recently the Haverfordwest Group was visited by Deputy PM Angela Rayner.

The Deputy Prime Minister, who herself left education with no formal qualifications, spent a lot of time talking with the learners about how the project has not only improved their numeracy skills, but also benefited their mental health, social anxiety and loneliness.

“It’s not just the numeracy, but the social interaction, the confidence… you can see firsthand the incredible work that’s going on here,” she said in a discussion with PATH Managing Director, Michael Hooper.

Following the welcome event in the Regency Hall’s Brookside Suite on September 10, 1-3pm, the Saundersfoot-based course will be running from Tuesday September 17 every week until December 10, excluding October 30.

Enjoy fun classes, get free learning tools, and even earn qualifications if you wish.

The Numeracy Project is aimed at adults 19+ who want to build confidence with numbers, improve employability, gain a qualification or simply manage their finances better to support with daily living.

In addition to group sessions throughout Pembrokeshire, lessons are held on a one-to-one basis, both in person and online.
