Pembroke Town Walls Trust have launched a new website to keep people updated on the work progressing and also the ‘Pledge A Stone’ fundraising campaign.

The new website which can be viewed at: www.pembroketownwallstrust.org.uk will be constantly updated as projects evolve.

“Trustees would firstly like to express our huge appreciation to Marnie Lines who graduated from the Tanyard Youth’s Project ‘Postcards and Podcasts’ to set up in business as a website developer,” said Daphne Bush from the Pembroke Town Walls Trust.

“The Trust commissioned her to develop our new website and the result is an delightful, excellent, modern website for the Town Walls Trust.

“The Pledge A Stone fundraising campaign is building steadily, and grateful thanks go to all those most encouraging and supportive ladies, gentlemen, their families and even their pets who have pledged to date. Records of persons making a pledge will be kept.

“The Trust is delighted to announce that £610 has been pledged since the December launch which will fund 122 stones.

“Thanks to everyone for their support. Once the CADW approved match funding amount of £4,125 is reached we shall contact everyone,” continued Daphne.

“The excellent and modern website will be updated on the progress of the campaign and the North Walls Project of the Gun Platform along the Millpond Walk.

“At our recent meeting, it was reported that the Gun Platform gable wall has been completed and approved by our architect.

“The scaffolding will now be dismantled and re-erected to commence the second phase of the Gun Platform restoration on the East facing wall.

“Finally, we do hope to be able to hold an AGM this year, which will be announced in this newspaper, our Facebook page and the new website.

“However, new members, volunteers and Trustees can join at any time so do get in touch.

“The Trust’s projects are materialising, and the involvement is interesting and so worthwhile for future generations,” she added.

The Pledge A Stone application form can be found on the new website, but anyone who would like a hard copy, can contact Daphne via email at: [email protected] or telephone: 01646 681437.
