A giant ‘sea monster’ will be helping to raise awareness of the ‘Plastic Free Tenby’ initiative in the resort next month.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Laurence Blackhall updated members on the group’s targets for the foreseeable future, with ‘personal and business pledge cards’ being made by those involved in the scheme.
He also explained that there would be a performance from a theatre group on the North Beach on Friday, July 27, featuring a ‘giant sea monster’ to raise awareness, and also further ‘big beach cleans’ for the resort the following day on July 28.
“What we don’t want to do once we get our plastic-free status for Tenby, is what Chepstow did this week, by promoting the fact with a big plastic banner!” he joked with his colleagues.
