Tenby’s new Community Engagement Officer has put a call out to all community groups and voluntary organisations to get in touch.
Anne Draper recently took on a new role as Community Engagement Officer working for Tenby Town Council, working to overcome issues arising from second home ownership as well as things that relate to ‘people, places and spaces’.
“Part of what I do is helping local community groups and voluntary organisations in any way I am able, such as acting as a central point for information about everyone’s activities and events to be shared out through, and spreading information of possible funding sources and other useful resources,” explained Anne.
“I can also assist groups to actually apply for the funding, and be a central point for groups to ask for volunteers and for individuals to find volunteering opportunities.
“To begin this process, I have been slowly gathering contact details of local community groups and voluntary organisations, and I am setting up an email group so I can send regular information out to everyone.
If you are part of a community group or voluntary organisation in Tenby, please could you make sure that I have an email address for someone in your group who would be happy to get these emails, probably monthly, maybe fortnightly if there is a lot happening!”
You can send details via email to: [email protected]; phone 01834 842730 or pop in to see Anne in the town council office at the De Valence Pavilion on Upper Frog Street from Tuesday to Friday.
