A miniature Manorbier pony is taking on the big task of helping bring cheer and supplies to villagers during lockdown.
For those living in the Manorbier/Skrinkle area Laura Randall-Evans and her five-year-old Shetland/Fallabella pony Bella have kindly offered to deliver essentials to household doorsteps from the Manorbier Stores and Post Office local shop via horse and cart every Friday.
Starting last Friday, Laura has been vigilant to ensure that social distancing measures are adhered to when delivering goods, and if you’re self isolating it may just cheer you up seeing Bella the pony trotting up to your premises - who only gets paid by way of an apple or carrot or just simply a smile and a wave!
“She loves people and people love her, and I’m hoping to do animal therapy with her eventually, as she is very intelligent and sociable,” explained Laura.
“My neighbour, who is over 70 and on his own, was delighted when I told him what I’m doing. He said he would love to see the little pony, and the children in their gardens on the estate thought it was great to see her as well.”
"It’s nice to do something to bring a bit of happiness. We need it at the moment,” added Laura.
