Can you help fund a new lawn for Tenby’s War Memorial? You can ‘donate a turf’ for less than £5.
After nearly 80 years and surviving ultra violet light, sea salt and constant mowing, the grass at the war memorial in the popular Pembrokeshire seaside resort has come to its end of life, and needs replacing urgently before it turns into a dust bowl.
Tim Caddy, who is a resident of Tenby and looks after the gardens, is doing the job of re-turfing the site with the council’s blessing. The town council has allocated some funds for the project, however it is not enough, writes Heinz Holland.
So the town is looking for further funding to complete the project.
Each turf costs £4.50. If you feel you would like to help, please drop your donations in to the council office at the De Valence. In future years you will have the satisfaction of knowing that part of it is yours.
