Earlier this month, Hubert Hilling hosted a fundraising garden party for a group of friends, in aid of the Haverfordwest-based charity ‘Get the Boys a Lift’.

Prior to a delicious array of sandwiches and cakes, served on Huwbert’s delightful terrace, the group had walked lesser-known footpaths around the East Williamston area, then, following a first class,‘re-victualing break’, they continued the remaining two miles of their walk....to walk off the calories!

Hubert was assisted by his neighbour, and cousin, Grace Richards, who provided much appreciated assistance in the kitchen and out, not to mention Welsh cakes and a superb sponge cake.

Donations raised amounted to £67, with an additional £10 raised by auctioning off a pair of ‘previously loved’ walking poles.
