It’s fast approaching panto season and Saundersfoot Footlights are getting ready to audition for their next pantomime! Following on from the resounding success of Allison Butler’s Rose’s Garden, Footlights are tackling the family favourite Jack and the Beanstalk, with a fabulous script by Peter Rowe.

Director Jordan Dickin said, “We can’t wait to get started on this show, rhe script is hilarious and heart-warming and the music that our musical director Clive Raymond has chosen is fantastic and will have everyone on their feet. The set team have already made a start on the spectacular scenery needed to bring this show to life so all we need now is a cast. We urge anyone who loves to perform and wants to tread the boards to come and audition.”

Do you fancy yourselves as the brave hero Jack or his flirtatious mother Dame Dolly Durden? Perhaps you might like to show off your inner evil and have a go at playing the Giant or his wicked assistant Fleshcreep. If you’d like to be involved and you’re aged 10 and over, come down to auditions at the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot at 1 pm on Sunday, September 1.

For those who are tempted but haven’t attended auditions with the society, you will need to sing two short songs (which are available on their Facebook page) and read a few short extracts from the script. The audition process is very friendly and low-pressure so please come along and meet everyone!

Footlights have an award-winning reputation for their productions and this high standard can be seen in the attention to detail that they are renowned for. If you don’t feel like being on stage is your thing then please come along anyway as costumes, set and props are a vital part of the production, along with publicity, technical design and so many other departments.

The performances will take place between December 2-7 at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot.
