Greylag geese are back into their winter routine of flying between Carew River and the Tenby, but one twitcher is puzzled by a change in their habitual route.
Richard Ellis, posting on the Pembrokeshire Birds blog, notes that while the greylags habitually fly SSE in the morning and NNW in the evening, he spotted less than 100 flying “the wrong way round”: SSE in the late afternoon on October 11 and 12.
On the 13th, he observed around 75 flying back NE over Carew Airfield.
