WATCH A quick tour round a collection of photography taken by members of the Preseli U3A camera group which depicts the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The photographs beautifully highlight the landscape, buildings and wildlife of the area.
Subjects include Pembrokeshire ponies, coastal landmarks, standing stones, iconic buildings… even dragons.
Photographers David Roblin, Mike Bayliss, David Gardner, Dave Livingstone, Paul Dument, Margaret Wills, Alan Francis and many others contributed inspiring an artistic works to the show, which is presented in memory of Rob Fear.
Rob Fear joined U3A Preseli in November 2021 after meeting a couple of U3A members on a photography course at Picton Castle. Rob enjoyed photography and was a regular member of the Digital Camera group which met twice a month. He enjoyed the camaraderie and light hearted comments when viewing photos at the indoor sessions.
At the start of 2023 the current camera group leader stood down and Rob didn’t hesitate in volunteering to take over as leader. He was an enthusiastic leader with new ideas and introduced a rota for members to choose the monthly theme. He was also involved in organising the group’s photography exhibition of images of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Sadly, Rob died in December and will not see the result of his hard work.
The exhibition, which is on display in the tower at Oriel y Parc Visitor Centre in the Pembrokeshire city of St Davids ends this Sunday, February 18.
The shop and visitor centre is open daily 9.30am to 4.30pm. The main gallery, which houses the marvellous Lost Words exhibition, is open from 10am to 4pm. (Video taster below)
