AN exciting line up of chefs and food writers are among the menu of delights to be found at Narberth Food Festival this weekend.

The two-day event, which runs on Saturday, September 23, and Sunday September 24, includes plentiful chef demonstrations, talks, tastings in the food theatre, live music and entertainment, a bar and street food area perfect for meeting family and friends, and over 45 food stalls and producers bursting with products to tempt your tastebuds.

Among those giving demonstrations this year will be Jonathan Williams, and head chef Charlie, from the Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company; Michael Inker of The Angel, Narberth; Pembrokeshire based chef Orsola Muscia; Jacqueline Anne Morgan, aka JAM, from Karm’en Kafe, Carmarthenshire; distillery founder James Harrison-Allen, of Still Wild, Pembrokeshire, writer Carwyn Graves; Michelle Evans of Paternoster Farm, near Pembroke; chef Sam Cooper; and Jemma Vickers and Paul Holt, of Hebron Vineyard.

Festival favourite, and patron, Angela Gray, a broadcaster, food writer and cookery school owner, returns once again too, this time demonstrating a tasty ‘alternative Sunday lunch’.

A panel discussion on the Saturday will take a look at food sustainability and the future of rural communities in Wales. Carwyn Graves will lead the debate on ‘Reimagining Our Food Heritage’ with Jacqueline Anne Morgan and James Harrison-Allen.

Live music comes from some of this part of Wales’ favourite and up and coming performers  and community music groups and choirs.

Festival chairman Colin Russell said: 

“Once again we have another super weekend planned. 

“Our committee volunteers put a lot of work into organising the festival each year and we are delighted to be able to showcase some of the innovative and passionate producers from our area.

“It promises to be a great weekend for anyone who has a passion for Welsh food and drink and the perfect place to meet friends and family to try some of what is on offer.”

Narberth Food Festival runs on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24, at the Town Moor, Narberth.

Entry costs £5 each day (under 16s free). Gates open 10am to 6pm Saturday, 10am to 4pm Sunday. 

Dogs are welcome in the outside public areas, but not the food marquees.

Two park and ride schemes will be in operation owing to limited parking at the Town Moor. You can find them at SA67 7FE at Narberth School and SA67 8RG on the Templeton road into Narberth.
