A “wonderful display of musicianship” by Keith Little and his ‘Swing Four’ made for an evening of “great music and entertainment” at the Plas Hotel in Narberth, ahead of the Christmas Party.
Although the four-piece band only comprised the voices of piano, trumpet, bass and drums, which doesn’t sound too impressive, writes Gordon Barry. But the style in which they filled the room with sweet and hot melodies was truly superb. Both delighting and captivating the appreciative audience .
The set included renditions of many familiar pieces, including Days of Wine and Roses, Nature Boy, Solitude, Tea for Two and the wonderful Lil Darlin’.
The Swing Four consisted of Gethin Liddington, the trumpet and flugel horn player whose ‘chops’ were in fine form and were complementary to Keith’s piano playing; both very skilfully backed and supported by Bill Fletcher on Bass and Greg Evans on drums.
Soon, Narberth Jazz will be inviting you to their Christmas Party, again at the Plas Hotel, on Thursday, December 7. Where our guest band will be the popular local ‘lads’ the Strumble Stutters.
“So get your glad rags on and strut your stuff at the Plas in a couple of weeks’ time to get into the Christmas ‘swing’”, adds Gordon Barry.
