From the popular Youth Theatre to the Adult Creative Writing Workshops – the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven has a great choice of activities this Autumn Season, and places are filling fast.

Torch’s vibrant youth Theatre is for young people aged seven to 18 and meets each week during term time, and they’re looking for members old and new to join them for an exciting Autumn term! This term runs from September 17 until December 3 with various groups for differing ages.

Group 1: School years 3 & 4 meet on Tuesdays, 4-5:30pm.

Group 2: School years 5 & 6 meet on Wednesdays, 4.30-6.00pm.

Group 3: School years 7, 8, & 9 meet on Tuesdays, 6.30-8pm.

Group 4: School years 10, 11, 12 & 13 meet on Wednesdays, 7.30-9.30pm.

All groups take part in an informal showcase performance for family and friends in the Torch Theatre Studio on Saturday, December 7.

The Youth Theatre is overseen by director and playwright Tim Howe who is the Torch’s Senior Manager for Youth & Community:

“For many of the young people who attend it is their first time getting involved with theatre and seeing their confidence grow through activities in which their voices and opinions are valued is the best bit of the job.”

Tim also takes charge of the Adult Creative Writing Workshops which are open to everyone 18 and over and run from Thursday, September 26 to Thursday, December 5.

The sessions are led by the Torch Theatre’s expert team. Staff members at the Torch will help get writers’ ideas on the page, giving characters voices, and supporting future writers in sharing work with others.

The Creative Writing sessions take place on a Thursday from 6.30pm – 8.30pm at the Torch Theatre, starting on Thursday, September 26. Further dates: October 3 and 17, November 7 and 21 and December 5. The Torch Youth Theatre Autumn Term runs from September 17 until December 3.
