This Saturday, St Mary’s Church at Herbandston, near Milford Haven, welcomes all to an evening of light music featuring the Cleddau Flute Choir.
A community based group in Pembroke, the Cleddau Flute Choir draws its members from across West Wales. Founded in 2023 with just four members, the ensemble now has a total of 17 flautists of varying experience.
The amateur flautists enjoy playing a wide range of genres. Film themes, songs from West End musicals, folk melodies and light classical pieces all combine to create a varied and interesting programme.
In addition to the usual ‘C’ flutes, the choir boasts three piccolo players and two alto flute players. These instruments add depth and richness to this unusual ensemble.
Pictured during a rehearsal earlier this summer, the Cleddau Flute Choir is available to play for concerts, fundraising events, fetes and Christmas Fairs. To contact the choir, email [email protected].
The concert at St Mary’s Herbrandston, which will be held on Saturday, October 19, starts at 7pm. Refreshments will be available, with donations to the church hall fund welcomed.
