March 6, was the BBC Young Reporters News Day, and all over the UK, participating schools were reporting on those issues that mattered to them.

In Dyffryn Taf, 13 pupils who undertook training to become school reporters in the summer term 2018, spent the whole day researching, interviewing, writing and/or filming their reports.

Topics covered ranged from: ‘Are chocolates shrinking in size?’ to ‘Teenagers and self-harm’, with interviews and surveys being carried out on staff and pupils.

Pupils were careful to ensure there was no bias in their articles, and to back up their statements with proven evidence. Working to a deadline and filming on a green screen created a real buzz, and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all.

Their articles were uploaded onto the BBC mixital site and are also available to view on the school website. Di iawn pawb.
