On Thursday (August 3), Digital Literacy events will take place at Tenby and Saundersfoot Libraries.
These are drop-in events, with no booking needed, to offer information about classes held by Learning Pembrokeshire and also to troubleshoot immediate problems with digital devices such as phones, tablets and laptops.
The events are at Tenby at 10am-12 noon and at Saundersfoot at 2-4pm.
The Summer Reading Challenge has started for junior borrowers and this year’s theme is called ‘Ready, Steady, Read!’, based around sport and games.
The Challenge involves visiting the library three times, taking out at least two books each time to get a sticker; completing the Challenge wins a medal and certificate. All the libraries in Pembrokeshire run the Challenge, so borrowing from any library will count. It runs until mid-September, so there is plenty of time to sign up and complete it.
The Library also holds craft events for children on Tuesday afternoons at 3-4pm until August 22; booking is essential, so call the day before to secure your child’s place.
The regular Friday afternoon Lego Club continues throughout the summer, every Friday 3-4.30pm. This is a free, drop-in activity; just drop in and make something wonderful.
Baby Rhyme Time is on a break for the summer and will be back in September.
New fiction in this month includes ‘The Ghost Ship’ by Kate Mosse, ‘Wait for Me’ by Santa Montefiore, and ‘Queuing for the Queen’ by Sweta Rana. New books in non-fiction include ‘Fast Like a Girl’ by Dr Mindy Pelz; ‘Bottomless Brunch’ by Kate Whitaker; and ‘Medical Downfall of the Tudors: Sex, Reproduction & Succession’ by Sylvia Soberton.
Narberth Library is still operating out of the Bloomfield Centre for the moment. Any phone calls or emails to Narberth Library will be diverted to Tenby Library.
Food waste bags are freely available at the library on request; also recycling boxes and bags. If you need more grey bags, contact the Council on 01437 764551 Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm or email [email protected] .
