Fenton CP School in Haverfordwest and Achieve More Training, Ltd were recruiting for an apprentice Learning Support Assistant, and Grivelin applied for the post…
Her application form was very detailed and after a consultation meeting, Achieve More Training had no hesitation in shortlisting her for an interview for the role.
Grivelin was successful at interview and began her career as a Learning Support Assistant, which includes completing her Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Right from the start of her apprenticeship, Grivelin impressed Achieve More Training, Ltd with her calm demeanour, her enthusiasm and her caring attitude towards children.
As part of the course, Grivelin had to have the equivalent of a GCSE in maths, English and ICT. She had the English and maths qualifications already, but sadly, her certificates were written in Afrikaans, from her native South Africa. Grivelin studied for and sat her Level 2 in Communication in English, Application of Number and Digital Literacy. She passed all three on her first attempt.
Grivelin’s hard work and personality has meant that she has become a trusted and valued member of staff at Fenton School. She has built strong, professional relationships with both pupils and staff and she is proof that Apprenticeships are still a hugely valid career route.
In a few weeks’ time, Grivelin will have completed her Level 2 qualification, and she will soon be signing up to complete her Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
Achieve More Training, Ltd is delighted with Grivelin’s progress, her attitude to learning and her success at Fenton CP School.
