County clr. Jacob Williams's report

Clr. Williams outlined to members that the chief executive of Pembrokeshire County Council, Bryn Parry-Jones, had left the employment of the authority after a majority of councillors present at the October 16 full council meeting voted to approve a substantial pay-off for him to leave. The deal also put an end to the formal disciplinary investigation that had been proceeding against him into allegations of misconduct.

Clr. Williams reported that the county council were running two public consultations, both of which were due to end on December 1.

One related to potential savings that could be achieved through changes to library opening hours following a review of the patterns of usage at each and every library.

Some of the proposals included closing at lunchtimes, closing earlier and increasing hours during school holidays to take account of seasonal demand.

All of the proposals and details on responding to the consultation were available on the county council's website,http://www.Pembrokeshire.gov.uk/Consultations">www.Pembrokeshire.gov.uk/Consultations.

The other currently open consultation was the authority's statutory council tax reduction scheme coming into effect in April 2015, which proposes that those eligible for council tax support will continue to receive benefit at a maximum level of 100 per cent.

He added that the gully at the end of Templebar Road was blocked at the junction with A478 Tenby Road and the Station Road sign was still missing by the Fountain Head Chinese Restaurant.

Items from councillors

Hill Lane had large amounts of dog waste deposits. Charles would put out some notices.

The street light adjacent to Meadowbank was out. The clerk was requested to obtain a list of streetlight numbers from PCC.

The East Williamston Park Association had been requested by relatives of Mr. Hughes, the proprietor of AJ Plant Hire, to provide proof that he did work at Jubilee Park etc and this had been done. The clerk advised that Mrs. Hughes had since asked her to provide further evidence that her father had worked in the business on a full-time basis.

Paperwork had been found (a covenant) which stated that the park land could only be used as a play area.

A dog fouling notice at the gate for the north car park for Jubilee Park was required.

PCC had sprayed the Japanese Knotweed and it was dead.

On either side of Clayford Road onto Tenby Road, where there was a dip in the road and bends, there were two blind spots as the hedge was growing out and obscuring the view. This was worse when turning right. It was to be reported to PCC.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, December 4, at 7 pm.
