A FIFTY-one-year-old from Saundersfoot awaits sentencing after admitting to the assault by beating of an emergency worker in October.
Appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on December 2, Leighton James, of Middlehill, Saundersfoot, pleaded guilty to assaulting a Police Officer acting in the exercise of his duties. The assault took place at Saundersfoot on October 19, 2024 and falls under the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018.
James also pleaded guilty to inflicting reckless criminal damage to a police vehicle and a police cell on the same day, with damage valued at £195 in both instances.
The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports and James remanded on conditional bail, pending the next hearing at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on January 6, 2025.
