A charity which provides nursing and preventative work in Tenby and Saundersfoot has received a donation that could save lives from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation after being nominated by colleagues from the Tenby branch.
Tenby and Saundersfoot Districts Friends of the Community received the £750 donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation to help it provide bleed control kits which will help to save lives in the community. The bleed control kits are made available in public places and can be used if someone suffers a catastrophic bleed and can help to stem the flow of blood in the minutes before an ambulance arrives.
The charity was nominated because it is well known in the local community, and colleagues at the branch are aware of the important work the charity does in the local area.
Rosamond Oak, customer consultant at Yorkshire Building Society in Tenby, said: “We are proud to be able to support Tenby and Saundersfoot Districts Friends of the community with this £750 donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
“The charity has a huge positive impact on those who need medical help in their own homes, and the bleed control kits bought with the donation could be life-saving.”
A spokesperson for Tenby and Saundersfoot Districts Friends of the Community said: “We are really thankful for the donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation that will help us to purchase the bleed control kits we need.”
