WITH seven regulars absent, Penally Bridge Club was down to three-and-a-half tables on September 2. 

Top pair by a very large margin was John & Jill with 66.67%. Second were Brenda & Alan with 52.50% and third, sharing 51.25% were Paul & Stuart and Kath & Dinah. 

With a four-board sit-out, the only piece of luck one pair had was the benefit of a sit-out on the last board and arriving home an hour earlier than usual.

The club meets each Monday at 1.15pm in the Village Hall. With Alan away until the beginning of October, it would be appreciated if any regulars not able to play during this time would let Brenda know on 01834 812132. —JCG
