On May 22 the speaker at Tenby Friendship Club was Neil from the Civic Society.
He explained the history of the society, which had its first meeting in January 1959 with 150 people attending because the trees on South Parade were to be taken out. Tenby residents prevented their removal then, but as we know, the trees are gone now because they were diseased.
Neil spoke about how they need young people to become interested in Tenby Civic Society, as most members are becoming older! The AGM meeting is on Saturday, June 22 at 2pm. Do go and join the society.
There will be no club meeting on May 29 as it is half term holiday. The next meeting is on June 5 and will be an opportunity to ‘get to know your fellow members’.
