It has been a marvellous May for RNLI Saundersfoot Branch.
On May 5, the branch took on the RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge with a mile walk across the Glen beach and were joined by over 50 people who registered for the event, as well as Stormy Stan!
With donations from walkers and the general public, they raised £367.25 for the RNLI. It couldn’t have happened without a merry band of volunteers who organised, set-up, marshalled, wrestled with the gazebo and merchandise in the winds and chaperoned Stan. The branch is grateful to all who walked the Mayday Mile, slowly or at speed, alone or while meeting new people, while beach cleaning or while learning about local marine life such as sea potatoes and sea mice!
They also offer a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to those who shared amazing stories with the volunteers about their experiences with rescues and RNLI lifeboats.
On May 26, the branch held a Brew For The Crew fundraiser hosted by Saundersfoot Sailing Club, raising £583 through sales of coffees and homemade cake and bringing the month’s fundraising to a marvellous £950.25!
And if all that wasn’t enough, the month ended in style with the arrival of teddy bears wearing Saundersfoot sweaters and a delivery of Saundersfoot flag lapel badges.
