Tenby Arts Club had a visit from Emma Baines, a poet and translator.

Emma Baines is a published poet, historian and creator of the Women Of West Wales community heritage project, based at Narberth Museum. She founded a writing group and is co-host of the Poetry Pause podcast.

Emma is also a translator and winner of best newcomer award at the Big Poetry Weekend poetry film competition. She’s co-hosted workshops for the Ancient Connections project in Pembrokeshire, and is an enthusiastic designer and leader of heritage walks.

Emma spoke a little about her life and the fact that, remarkably, her family had never moved away from the area.

She said she feels a great connection with nature and local landmarks.

The Arts Club found her poems philosophical, insightful, moving and amusing and the evening was much enjoyed by all the members.
