DESPITE atrocious weather conditions, the Christmas Coffee Morning run by the Narberth branch of Versus Arthritis at the Social Club on the Moor was very successful, raising over £450.
The well-attended event included stalls selling homemade cakes and desserts, Christmas cards and a popular, well-stocked tombola stall which attracted considerable interest from all present.
Many raffle prizes were won, including M&S vouchers, a bottle of orange-flavoured gin, boxes of chocolates, biscuits, floral plants, bottles of wine, and two lovely baskets of fruit and chocolates.
Welcoming everyone to the event, chairwoman Mrs Ann Morris said that Versus Arthritis UK is the charity leading the fight against arthritis - well known to be a very painful and debilitating disease. Like many charities, Versus Arthritis UK receives no Government assistances, making fundraising mornings like this so important.
Ann then thanked Mr and Mrs J Owen and the club officials for the use of the clubhouse and Mr Clive James for his assistance with printing. She also acknowledged the hard work of the committee members, and thanked everyone for attending on such a stormy day.
The charity is planning further events for 2025, when a warm welcome will be extended to everyone.
