AFTER their short December meeting at the Begelly Arms, Kilgetty WI enjoyed an excellent Christmas meal in a happy festive atmosphere amongst friends.
The newly elected president Lyn Lawson welcomed members to the meeting and the venue for a festive lunch. It was the first meeting with the newly formed committee.
Lyn informed members that an interesting and exciting programme for the forthcoming year was underway with a trip to Gower and the country show being planned for Summer 2025.
Four members celebrating their birthdays during December were wished a Happy Birthday.
Lyn encouraged everyone to look out and care for each other and nurture a family environment. She also requested members to share special events or happy news. Members were reminded to vote for the WI resolution.
Items of interest in the newsletter were mentioned including Slow stitching workshop, Anything goes, Rhos WI marmalade show and a trip to Cardiff to the Senedd and a performance of War Horse.
Members were informed that the display window in WI house Haverfordwest would be decorated by Kilgetty WI in April. Also mentioned was the continued support to the Rotary Club with the shoebox initiative and this year’s boxes were being sent to Moldova.
Julia Mills was the lucky raffle winner. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 14.
