Visitors from Pembroke’s twin town in Germany were given a warm welcome during their recent tour of local landmark attractions.
Mayor of Pembroke and Chairman of the Pembroke Twinning Committee Cllr Aden Brinn welcomed to the Mayor’s Parlour at Pembroke Town Hall the Bürgermeisterin Claudia Dettmar-Muller and Mrs Silvia Bothe from Pembroke’s twin town of Bergen, Lower Saxony, Germany.
During their visit to Pembroke, the itinerary included visiting St Mary’s Church, Warren, Stackpole Gardens, Pembroke Castle, the West Wales Maritime Museum and Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre. They also went to Castlemartin Army Camp.
Councillor Brinn presented to Burgermeisterin Claudia Dettmar-Muller a framed photograph of the Henry VII statue which proudly stands down at Pembroke Quay.
During the visit, both mayors discussed ideas of future exchanges of youth and organisations between their respective communities and to continue in the spirit of strengthening European international friendship between Pembroke and Bergen.
