This was the heartwarming scene at Tenby’s picturesque harbour beach on Saturday - witnessed by members of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, when a group of children (with some adult supervision) built their own island to try and combat the incoming tide.
“Exciting scenes at Tenby Harbour this evening, as a crowd has gathered to cheer on a group of children trying to build their own island against the incoming tide, with everyone willing them on to succeed!” stated Pembroke Neighbourhood Policing Team on social media, who had joined forces with officers in Tenby for Operation Lion that evening for patrols of the seaside town.
A little later on though officers joked that they were ‘sad to announce that Harbour Island has flooded!’
“Foot patrol continues, good to speak to holiday makers and locals - we’re out on foot and in vehicles through the night to ensure everyone enjoys Tenby safely.” they added.
