A plant nursery with gardens and café, ‘The Perennial Nursery’, has now reopened for the 2023 season.
This small, independent plant nursery, based just three miles from St Davids, has opened its doors welcoming visitors to its extensive gardens, four polytunnels, café and small farm shop.
Specialising in herbaceous perennials, all plants are propagated on site using peat free compost, ensuring that stock is perfectly adapted to the sometimes tricky, coastal conditions.
Visitors are welcome to explore the polytunnels, growing seasonal vegetables, salads and flowers, the potager and gravel garden and two woodland areas. Children and dogs are very welcome.
The café is renowned for its locally baked cakes and will be serving light lunches from Easter weekend. Available to purchase are meat and cheese from nearby farms, salad crops and seasonal vegetables from its own gardens, together with cakes, jams and Welsh teas and coffees.
With the focus on sustainability and ethical production, the nursery has teamed up with local crafters, now stocking wooden bird boxes from Dreamwood Dabbler, handmade ceramics from local potter Jennifer Hall and textiles from Caroline Sidonio and Jan’s Knits.
Situated on the Llanrhian Road, heading to Porthgain from St David’s, the nursery is currently open from Thursday to Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm. Hours will be extended in April and May.
Please check the Perennial Nursery Facebook page to confirm exact opening times.
