Tenby postmaster Vince Malone is in a shortlist of six as the Post Office opens voting across the UK for two non-executive directors.
Vince, who runs Tenby Stores and Post Office at Ruabon House in South Parade, said he would lobby Post Office HQ to provide “unwavering support, proper training and fair remuneration” if elected.
“Our customers rely on the post office, and postmasters are poised to meet their needs with excellence. What we require, and what I aim to achieve, is a world-class support system that complements our exceptional service delivery.
“The enduring popularity of post offices on our high streets underscores their importance, and it is essential that we secure their presence for years to come.”
Voting runs from 30 September to 16 October, with the two chosen candidates speaking directly and raising concerns of the wider network to the Post Office’s board.
Local MP Henry Tufnell has lent his support, saying: “Great to see local post master Vince in the final selection for the non-executive director positions at the Post Office. Local post offices are vital to communities and it’s great to see someone local reach the final few candidates.
“Good luck Vince!”
