The ‘Together Stronger’ troop of volunteers who have been out and about helping communities during the pandemic, have said thanks to the county’s fire crews with a donation.
During the nationwide lockdown, the helpers who set up the Facebook group were busy collecting boxes of food for vulnerable/disabled/shielding adults, children and key workers, and continued that work in the community, during the fire-break Welsh lockdown last month.
Now Julie Wickland and her fellow volunteers have given a generous thanks to frontline firefighters with a goodwill gesture by presenting festive hampers to the key workers.
“I thought we do a small hamper for fire stations in Tenby, Pembroke Dock, and Haverfordwest and the amount of love and support shown for these guys was overwhelming,” said Julie.
“They were all so grateful for the items and wish to thank everyone. This has been a amazing day delivering these as even out in the bad weather they still are doing drills.
“We are not a registered charity so without the kind support of supermarkets and shops and Pembrokeshire people we could not have achieved everything this year.
“A huge thank you to all the Pembrokeshire people for donating now or throughout the year. Well done everyone!” she added.
